Fifty Shades of Grey: A Constructive Response
I’m going out on a limb here, but I’m guessing you’ve heard
about a book (now a film) entitled Fifty Shades of Grey, by E. L. James. When the film was released a month or so
ago, my Facebook wall was plastered with Christian responses (or responses by
Christians) to it, all pretty much decrying its presentation of a ‘romantic’
relationship. My friend, Jon, is the first Christian I know to be offering a more
constructive reading of James’s book, taking into account its origins as Twilight fan fiction, and I thought I’d link to the posts he’s,
um, posted so far. Here’s part one and part two.
